HARROGATE, Tennessee, May 10, 2019— Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) inducted 20 new members into the Tennessee Epsilon 82 chapter of Alpha Chi May 3, during a ceremony in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center of the Duke Hall of Citizenship.
Founded in 1922, Alpha Chi is a coeducational academic honor society with the purpose of promoting academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students. Membership is limited to the top 10 percent of junior, senior and graduate classes.
Undergraduate students inducted included Jared Ray of Jacksboro, Tennessee; Meredith Neely of New Tazewell, Tennessee; Kalie Rich of Russellville, Tennessee; Heather Sexton of New Market, Tennessee; Arthur Risavy of Edwardsville, Illinois; Timberly Dean of Jonesville, Virginia; Laura Everly of Corbin, Kentucky; Shelby Rohling of Columbia, Tennessee; Houston Wischmeier of Westmoreland, Tennessee; Philip Gibson of Mooresburg, Tennessee; and Dakota Brock of Tazewell, Tennessee.
Graduate students inducted included Vivian Hill of Harlan, Kentucky; Gage Smith of Kodak, Tennessee; Megan Bailey of Knoxville, Tennessee; Kala Hudson of Knoxville, Tennessee; Layton Byrd of Louisville, Kentucky; Kaitlin Green of Knoxville, Tennessee; Everett McNair of Knoxville, Tennessee; Alyssa Hall of Clarkrange, Tennessee; Reagan Fields of Anderson, South Carolina.
The objectives of Alpha Chi are to promote and to recognize superior scholarship and those elements of character that make scholarship effective for service. The society has more than 300 chapters across the country. Membership is the highest academic honor on campus.
