HARROGATE, Tennessee, November 19, 2018— The J. Frank White Academy (JFWA) cross country team wrapped up its season Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) Championships in Dayton, Tennessee.
JFWA’s Justin Poland, a junior from Harrogate, Tennessee, finished 14th overall in the boys varsity school race with a time of 19:07 for the 3.1-mile (5k) course. Poland led JFWA in the field of 75 boys.
Rounding out the JFWA roster were Daniel Gao (sophomore, Tazewell, Tennessee) in 21:09/34th; Jacob Melton (senior, Middlesboro, Kentucky) in 21:13/35th; Alan Luc (junior, Middlesboro, Kentucky) in 23:01/35th; Caleb Carney (freshman, Harrogate, Tennessee) in 23:12/60th; Nick Lockhart (senior, New Tazewell, Tennessee) in 24:03/65th; Connor Snow (junior, Harrogate, Tennessee) in 25:04/70th; Gareth Zahnke-Basuki (junior, Big Stone Gap, Virginia) in 25:33/71st; Mason Troutman (sophomore, LaFollette, Tennessee) in 25:55/72nd; Enik Rogers (senior, Lafollette, Tennessee) in 28:13/74th and John Bradley (junior, Harrogate, Tennessee) in 32:26/75th.
Four JFWA girls competed as individuals. Elizabeth Melton (sophomore, Middlesboro, Kentucky) finished 41st in 26:48; Anna Posey (junior, Tazewell, Tennessee) in 28:21; Kyla Piercy (junior, New Tazewell, Tennessee) in 29:58; and Grace Kelly (junior, Ewing, Virginia) in 30:27.
