Rex Hobbs was named the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs (AD) for the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) fall of 2019. In this role, he will aid in SMS administrative duties, but mainly will focus on aiding SMS programs in their drive for academic excellence, evaluation and integrity.
In addition to 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Hobbs has spent the past 17 years in PA education in varying roles. He began full-time academia at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas before moving to Harrogate TN to join the faculty at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) nearly 12 years ago. He most recently served as the Program Director for the LMU PA Program.
He has served on numerous committees for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), been active on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA) and currently serves as a site visitor for the national PA education accrediting body, the ARC-PA. In addition to several clinical publications and presentations, he is currently an adjunct faculty member for the James Cook University PA Program in Townsville, Australia.
