International Students

The LMU-CVM is now accepting international students. Please see the information below regarding the Application Process and Logistics Policy.

Application Process and Logistics Policy

  • International applicants to the LMU-CVM must follow the standard application procedure detailed at https://www.lmunet.edu/college-of-veterinary-medicine/admissions/application-process.php. All data included on the application (demographical data, experiences, essays, etc.) must be written in English.
  • Official transcripts are initially submitted to VMCAS and subsequently submitted to the LMU-CVM following course completion. Any transcripts from institutions located outside of the United States must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) or Josef Silney & Associates, Inc. prior to submission to VMCAS or the LMU-CVM Office of Admissions.
  • Letters of recommendation must be submitted to VMCAS following standard procedure; please note that these letters must be written in English.
  • If English is not the applicant's native language, international applicants to the LMU-CVM are required to submit one of the following official test score reports:

PBT (Paper-based TOEFL) 500

Please Note: If an applicant earns a baccalaureate degree from an American or English-speaking institution, the TOEFL exam will not be a requirement.

Once accepted, the international student will consult the International Student Advisor to demonstrate proof of financial support while enrolled at the University. All above documentation must be received and admission granted before issuance of paperwork necessary for obtaining a student visa.

The international student offered admission to the LMU-CVM will receive a letter of acceptance. Upon acceptance the student will be contacted by William Daniels, Director of Community College Relations and Veteran Services, who also serves as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO) for our international programs. He will provide additional data that is needed prior to matriculation/attendance at LMU-CVM and will be the point of contact for Visa-related details. The University will not enroll any student not approved by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to attend LMU, and the University will not enroll students who have been issued visas for enrollment at other colleges or universities.
