We offer a full range of services from annual checkups, vaccines, various surgeries, full diagnostic bloodwork and urinalysis with our in house Idexx Laboratory. Diagnostic ultrasound, dentistry with digital x-rays, acupuncture for pain and arthritis, therapy laser and certification for so many pain and arthritis issues, full digital radiology, and a surgical otoscope are just some of our capabilities. We see walk-ins, daytime emergencies and regularly scheduled appointments to help meet our clients’ needs.
    Vet tech duties include loading appointments, obtaining detailed history and basic physical exams. Treatment of hospitalized patients, placing IV catheters and drawing blood for analysis as well as assisting in pharmaceutical calculations, filling prescriptions and medicating patients is also required. In regards to surgery, our techs will be expected to help in tailoring the anesthetic protocol and carrying out surgical preparation including: catheterization, drug calculation, intubating, surgical room preparation, sterile scrubbing and anesthetic monitoring (ECG, capnography, BP, temp, Heart rate) and surgical assistance when needed. We have a wonderful in-house laboratory that includes CBC, Chemistry, Sediview, microscope and more! Other duties include obtaining full body digital radiographs, laser therapy, and the possibilities are always growing. Dentistry is an important part of our practice. You will get to chart, clean, polish, radiograph and assist with surgical techniques. We have many great veterinary assistants and wonderful receptionists to help with work flow. Client communication is near and dear to our hearts. We strive to offer tailored care and be available to our clients. A well-educated client tends to be a more compliant client.     Each day the Special Events Intern will support the Development team with the successful execution of Walk MS, and/or Bike MS events in the Midsouth Chapter Brentwood Office, through recruitment and cultivation of participants and teams, community outreach, top fundraiser recognition, and general support.
    Specific Responsibilities
    Assist full-time staff with day-to-day operations and event management 60%
    Communications with vendors 10%
    Payment processing 5%
    Budget input management 5%
    Set-up and breakdown of events 10%
    Storage inventory and management 10%
    Learning Objectives
    Manage timeline for events
    Manage pieces of budget
    Successfully engage in vendor communications
    Exhibit general professionalism (timeliness, appropriate dress, etc.)
    Demonstrate increased understanding of necessary aspects of event management

    Required/preferred q.../:

    1. Field of Study:
    Event Management, Marketing/Communications, Non-Profit Leadership, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Public Health, or related field

    2. Year in school:
    Junior or Senior in College

    3. Time Commitment:
    # of weeks: 12-16 (flexible)
    Hours per week: 15-20 (flexible)

    4. Minimum Experience/Skills
    Undergraduate students currently in or heading into their junior or senior year are encouraged to apply. Strong knowledge of computer and data entry. Pleasant manner, dependable, people-oriented, comfortable public speaking, event management, and multi-tasking.

    5. Technical/Other requirements
    Must have a valid driver's license and dependable vehicle.
    Must be willing and able to work some late nights and/or weekends (note: will outline which dates intern will work extra hours during interview/training).
