I am a new employee.  Where do I go for Orientation?

New Employee Orientation is conducted in the Department of Human Resources which is on the second floor of Grant Lee.  There are signs located on the second floor to assist you.   

 

As a new employee, how do I obtain my email address and credentials for computer access?     

During orientation, HR will give you your MyLMU credentials.  Your computer access credentials will be the same. 

Your email address will be your [email protected]

The password scheme for new accounts is capital LMU and the first letter of your lastname followed by your 8 digit birthday (for example, if your name was Abraham Lincoln  and you were born on February 12, 1809, your username would be abraham.lincoln and your password would be LMUl02121809 – a lower case “L” followed by 02121809).

 

Where can I find the Employee Handbook and the University Policy and Procedures?

The Employee Handbook and the University Policy and Procedure can be found on the MyLMU Homepage.  On the left side of the page, you will find a menu button, you will select Employee Services, Human Resources and All Documents.  You will find a direct link to the LMU Employee Handbook.   

 

Where can I find resources to help manage my employees?

I recently got married.  How do I update my personal information?

Congratulations!  To update your personal information, please visit the MyLMU website.   On the left side of the page, you will find a menu button, you will select Employee Services, Human Resources and Full-Time Employees.  You will find a direct link to the appropriate forms – “Change of Name Form” and “Change of Address Form”.  These forms should be submitted to HR for updating.  Or for your convenience, address changes may be made in the Self-Service menu on the MyLMU website. 

 

I forgot my password for MyLMU, how do I set up a new one?

If you forget your password, click on Change My Password in the lower right corner of the MyLMU sign on page and follow the instructions provided.  You may contact IS at 423.869.7411, for further assistance.

 

How do I change my email password?

  • If you forget your password, go to http://changemypassword.lmunet.edu
  • Click the Change Password link
  • Fill in your current UserName and Password and select Login
  • Provide your old (current) password and the new password and click OK

 

Where can I find a holiday schedule?

The HR Holiday Schedule is located in the LMU Employee Handbook under the Holiday Leave section.

 

If I am hurt on the job, what should I do?

If you experience a workplace injury, you need to report the injury to your supervisor immediately, and then both of you need to call the Human Resources Department at 423.869.6302.   

If you experience a life threatening workplace injury, call 911 immediately.

 

Compensation

How do I record my hours worked? 

Non-exempt employees use an electronic time tracking system called “KRONOS” to capture and record hours worked. Time clocks are located throughout the buildings at the LMU employee locations. Please check with your supervisor or payroll personnel regarding time clock locations in your area. Employees are expected to clock in and out at their regularly scheduled times. If an employee is unable to clock in or out because of a KRONOS malfunction, accidental oversight, or other reason, it is the employee’s responsibility to immediately inform their supervisor.

 

When do I get paid?

Employees are paid by direct deposit. Non-exempt employees are paid biweekly. Biweekly paychecks are received every other Friday for the pay period ending the previous Sunday. Exempt employees are paid monthly. Monthly paychecks are received on the last working day for that month.

 

How do I change my banking information?

To update your personal information, please visit the MyLMU website.   On the left side of the page, you will find a menu button, you will select Employee Services, Human Resources and Full-Time Employees.  You will find a direct link to the Direct Deposit form.  The form should be submitted to HR for updating.  Or for your convenience, you may change your information in the Self-Service menu on the MyLMU website. 

 

How can I change my payroll withholdings?

To update your personal information, please visit the MyLMU website.   On the left side of the page, you will find a menu button, you will select Employee Services, Human Resources and Full-Time Employees.  You will find a direct link to the W-4 form.  The form should be submitted to HR for updating. 

 

How do I receive my paycheck?

Direct Deposit is required for all employees.  Employees can also check their pay check data on MyLMU WebAdvisor for Employees.  Click on Employee Profile and select Earnings Statements.  You may view or print desired pay advices.

How long can I cover my dependents?

Dependent children are eligible for coverage through the last day of the month of their 26th birthday.  Proof of a dependent’s eligibility (birth certificates) will be required. 

 

Can I change my health insurance coverage? 

Yes, if you have a qualifying life event.  The most common qualifying life events are the loss of health care coverage, a change in your household (such as marriage or birth of a child), or change of residence.

If I leave LMU, when will my insurance terminate?

The last day of the month following your termination.

 

If I leave LMU, what happens to my accrued Paid Time Off (PTO)?

You will be paid up to 40 hours of any accrued & unused PTO time on your final paycheck.

What is the application procedure?

 Applications for employment are completed through the Job Openings page of the LMU website at https://careers.lmunet.edu/. To apply for a position, select the title of the position you are interested in and complete the application process by selecting “Apply for this Job”.

  

If I am an internal candidate, how do I apply to another position?

Position openings are announced to current employees through postings on the University website. The University reserves the right not to post an open position. LMU makes every effort to hire employees for positions that make the best use of their abilities and in which they will be able to be highly productive while achieving personal satisfaction while fulfilling the position. Current employees are invited to apply for open positions at the University.

How long is my application active?

The application is retained in a secure database until you remove it from the system. Your resume, however; is only maintained for the specific job in which you applied.
