26873562115_4afaae2bbd_hCommencement is a special time for graduating students, their loved ones, and the entire academic community. As with most educational programs, graduation from law school marks an important milestone in one’s personal and professional development.

On Saturday, May 7, 2016, the Duncan School of Law conducted its sixth commencement
at the Tex Turner Arena on Lincoln Memorial University’s main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee. It was a momentous occasion for the law school and the wider LMU family.

This year’s commencement address was delivered by former international affairs officer and military historian Kim Bernard Holien. With a diverse background, including time served with the U.S. Department of State, the National Archives and as a teacher at John Carroll High School in the District of Columbia, Holien also served as a military historian with the Army and National Guard Bureau from 1979 until his retirement in March 2013.

Commencement 2016Like most worthwhile undertakings, the journey to this day was not easy. As the years pass, we hope our new graduates will reflect on their time with us and appreciate the lessons learned in and out of the classroom.

To the Class of 2016: Please keep in touch with us and know that we sincerely wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors.
