Statement of Accreditation
Lincoln Memorial University-College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) to offer an academic program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree. The degree is conferred by the Board of Trustees of LMU on those candidates recommended by the faculty of LMU-DCOM. COCA is the only accrediting agency for predoctoral osteopathic medical education and is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE).
Following the most recent accreditation review and site visit, LMU-DCOM was found to be compliant with 57 of 61 elements and reaccredited by the COCA through 2022. In accordance with the established rubric developed by the COCA, LMU-DCOM was granted continuing accreditation with heightened monitoring and will submit a mid-cycle report in 2020 to document actions taken to address compliance with COCA standards. COCA has also granted LMU-DCOM approval for an additional location and class size increase in Knoxville, TN starting Fall 2019.
