The Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is pleased to announce the approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to move forward with a new Doctor of Medical Science Degree. The goal of this program is to train doctoral level primary care clinician as well as a doctoral medical educator.
The first cohort of students matriculated into the program in the fall of 2016. The program is a 50 credit advanced clinical doctoral degree designed for experienced physician assistants. The first year of the program is composed of online didactics taught by medical subspecialists and Ph.D. faculty. The second year includes online didactics specific to either the chosen clinical or academic track which will be taught by experts in that field. Throughout the two years of the program, students will achieve defined competencies in either their clinical practice or their academic teaching settings.
Upon completion, the graduate will have advanced clinical and/or educational skills to bring to the healthcare team.
