LMU's cornerstone belief is service to humanity, and few professions embody this belief like nursing. Nurses help people attain and regain wellness. In addition, nurses work with individuals, families, and community groups, helping them adapt to changes—in their needs, their roles, and their relationships—brought on by changes in health. At LMU, nursing students receive the training and education needed to become qualified nurses capable of succeeding in the 21st century health care environment. Students are also held to the high moral and ethical standards, as well as a sense of personal responsibility, that are vital to nursing.
NOTE: We thank you for your interest in our Nursing Programs here at LMU! Should you choose to apply, please remember, you can only apply for ONE program. If you are interested in our undergraduate programs, you may only apply for either the ASN or BSN. If you are having trouble deciding, please don’t hesitate to contact us in order to ask questions that will aid you in this decision. Thanks!”

The CSON employs a distinguished faculty that are professional educators as well as practitioners in the field of nursing. All nursing professors hold a minimum of a Master’s of Science in Nursing, with many faculty also holding doctoral degrees, from various institutions of higher education. LMU’s nursing faculty includes individuals with specialties/concentrations in the following areas: adult health, pediatrics, mental health, women’s health, administration, education and community health nursing.
LMU nursing graduates are working in all areas of nursing, including specialized areas such as neonatal intensive care, mental health nursing, school health nursing, and trauma nursing. They work all over the country in a variety of settings--from major medical centers to small community hospitals.
Many of our graduates have also gone on to graduate school at places such as the University of Tennessee and University of Kentucky and obtained their master's degree in nursing. With a master's degree, you'll be prepared for a host of specialized positions such as nurse practitioner and nurse anesthetist.
LMU's Student Nurses' Association enables you to get involved in the community and develop yourself professionally. LMU students have served as president of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) and as editor of the NSNA's official publication.
