This class will be a step by step instruction that will have you drawing your best portraits yet. Techniques of shading and blending that capture the soft tones and dimensional shapes of facial features (eyes, nose, ears, and mouth), skin, and hair.
please bring an 8x10 black and white of a photo you would like to draw.

Rhonda Robinson is from Harlan Kentucky. She is a graduate from Lincoln Memorial University where she obtained a BA in Visual Arts and went on to teach high school art for nine years in the Harlan County public school system. Rhonda is currently in private practice as a clinical counselor in Harlan County, where she lives with her husband David Robinson and son James Henry. She also has a daughter Jami and granddaughter Sydney.
Michael Giles is a Venezuelan-American artist working primarily in painting and drawing. He has exhibited internationally, and currently lives and works in Knoxville, TN. Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, he was raised in Baltimore, OH. He studied as part of the Reciprocal Exchange Program at Edith Cowan University (Perth, Australia, 1996) and received a BFA from the Ohio State University in 2000, and a MFA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2007. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN.
Born in a small town in Japan, Miwa Batchelor has had a lifelong interest in art. Miwa , married with two daughters received her Bachelor of Arts in Art at Lincoln Memorial University in 2016. She has sold many paintings, drawings, and ceramic works at college art shows and charity auctions. She is currently working mostly with oil, acrylic and Japanese ink on landscapes, still-lifes, and portraits.
