At LMU, engineering students learn in a small, supportive environment built around faculty instruction, personalized advising, and hands on experience. From the beginning of the program, students receive guidance in choosing a path, staying on track academically, and preparing for internships, co ops, and future licensure.
All engineering classes and laboratories are taught by faculty who are directly involved in student learning and mentorship. Instruction focuses on applying engineering concepts to real problems while building strong technical and problem solving skills. Students also receive support in finding practical experiences with industry partners and public agencies.
As part of one of the first engineering cohorts, students have opportunities to help establish student organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, and Tau Beta Pi. These experiences allow students to gain leadership experience, build professional connections, and contribute to the growth of engineering at LMU.
