Course Description:
Sleep disordered breathing has become the silent crisis stretching across the United States and the world. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine estimates over 30 million US adults have obstructive sleep apnea but an estimated 80% of these are undiagnosed. How can we as dental professionals help to diagnose risk factors for our patients? This course will explore the anatomy of the airway and what dental imaging we can use to uncover the potential risk factors in our patients. The focus will be 3d imaging (CBCT) as a way to evaluate a patient’s airway structure and anatomy.
