MISSION
The mission of LMU-CDM is to prepare highly skilled, compassionate, and ethical oral health providers dedicated to excellence in teaching, patient care, research, and service. Our focus is on improving oral and overall health in underserved communities, which is accomplished through lifelong learning and critical thinking. Graduates leave equipped to contribute meaningfully to their profession and to society through innovation, evidence-based care, and outreach. (Approved by Faculty Council 10/21/24)
VISION
The vision of the LMU-CDM is to be a leader in dental education by preparing graduates who are clinically competent, ethically grounded, and trained in advanced dental implant therapy to meet the evolving oral health needs of the communities they serve.
The emphasis on advanced clinical training, including dental implant therapy, reflects the institution’s mission to address workforce needs and oral health disparities in underserved and rural communities. This vision supports the institutional mission by: providing contemporary dental education through curriculum innovation and advanced technology; delivering integrated, patient-centered, and evidence-based clinical education; and preparing graduates capable of meeting current and future oral health care needs.
GOALS
To achieve the Mission of the Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry program, the faculty and students engage in an active educational process with a variety of learning experiences. They collaborate in scholarly and service activities within a curriculum designed so that upon completion of the program, the following
Goals will be achieved in the four areas below: Teaching, Research, Patient-Centered Care, and Service.
