Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The mission of LMU's Master of Science in Business Analytics program is dedicated to developing students who can demonstrate a proven ability to utilize data to create value- added solutions for important business challenges. Graduates from this degree program are able to apply critical thinking skills to solve complex business problems; classify data sets and select the appropriate analytical tool; generalize the necessary theoretical, mathematical, and statistical concepts to ensure data is properly analyzed; acquire data from a diverse population of computer storage systems, execute in a team environment; and communicate complex analytical results to business managers.

The LMU MSBA's comprehensive 30 credit hour program is designed using entirely online coursework in order to meet the needs of working professionals.  The program can be completed in as little as 20 months and aims to develop students who are critical thinkers with a wide variety of analytic skills and a team mentality.

Program Objectives:

  • Prioritizes the use of descriptive, inferential, predictive, and prescriptive analytics methods within multiple business disciplines.
  • Classify data sets and select the appropriate analytical tool
  • Generalize the necessary theoretical, mathematical, and statistical concepts to ensure data is properly analyzed
  • Acquire data from a diverse population of computer storage systems

PROGRAM OPTIONS AND CURRICULUM

The LMU MSBA program is a 30-hour program and modeled after a cohort style, with students starting together each spring, summer, and fall. The MSBA program is comprised of 10 courses, with all courses being offered in an entirely online format. MSBA courses are available for students admitted to the MSBA program only. Courses will be centered around topics such as process analytics, experiment design, statistical methods, regression analysis, forecasting, analytical programming, and data mining.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Online MSBA Application
  2. Writing Prompt
  3. Current Resume/CV
  4. Official Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate coursework
  5. A bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.75 GPA
  6. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation

International Applicants

International Applicants who can complete their MSBA in an entirely online format are welcome to apply. Additional admissions requirements include:

  1. Minimum TOEFL score of 70
  2. Official Evaluated Transcripts sent through an evaluating service directly to the school - World Education Services (www.wes.org) and International Education Evaluations, Inc. (worldwidetranscripts.com/iee) are accepted by the school.

Writing Samples, Resumes, and Letters of Recommendation (direct from references) can be submitted online through the application portal.
