Dr. Laura Morrow is the Senior Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and an Associate Professor of Management at Lipscomb University. She began her academic career in the College of Business at Lipscomb and later held faculty and key administrative roles at Brenau University and Mercer University in Georgia, including department chair and program director. While at Mercer, she also led leadership development programs for external clients. As a 2018-2019 Governor's Teaching Fellow at the University of Georgia's Institute of Higher Education, she cultivated her passion for teaching and learning initiatives.
Since returning to Lipscomb in 2022, she has led CTL initiatives, leveraging her expertise in organizational behavior and extensive teaching experience. She oversees university-level projects including New Faculty Orientation, Department Chair Training, Online Teaching Certificate programs, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) grants, and other faculty professional development initiatives.
Dr. Morrow holds a B.S. in Accounting and Management and an M.B.A. from Lipscomb University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Mississippi. Her teaching portfolio spans traditional in-person and online courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including management, accounting, international business, business communication, and psychology. She has also taught in unique settings such as study abroad programs, prison education initiatives, and programs for rising high school seniors.
Her research focuses on workplace stress and organizational outcomes, particularly workplace stigmas and experiences faced by cancer survivors. Her work also explores the impact of course design on student experiences of stress and well-being. Dr. Morrow has recently completed the TICUA Executive Leadership Institute as a 2024-25 Presnell Fellow.
Dr. Morrow volunteers as a small group facilitator with the YMCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee After Breast Cancer program, is an avid reader and gardener, and proud aunt. She loves spending time outdoors with family, including her husband, 2 stepsons, and dog, Champ.
