Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine Curriculum
DCOM's curriculum is a four-year, full-time academic and clinical degree program, which grants its graduates the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
The curriculum stresses the interdependence of the biological, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences. We emphasize educating physicians for primary care medicine, employing the distinctive osteopathic principles for maintaining health, and treatment of disease.
You will complete the curriculum in two phases:
- Pre-clinical Sciences (Years 1 and 2)
- Clinical experiences (Years 3 and 4)
A primary care physician must be skilled in problem-solving and demonstrate expertise in diagnosis. To ensure you can achieve these standards, the DCOM curriculum emphasizes the integration of basic and clinical sciences in medical practice.
