Harrogate, Tennessee, September 19, 2018— Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) and WCXZ Radio are proud to announce that Larry Carter, host of “Bluegrass for Breakfast” on 740 WCXZ, has been named as one of five finalists for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Broadcaster of the Year award.
Long recognized as bluegrass music’s main governing body, the IBMA serves as a primary voice for the artists, broadcasters and fans of the music worldwide. Carter was previously a finalist for the award in 2016.
Carter has devoted much of his life to bluegrass music as a performer, promoter and broadcaster. The nomination is a much–deserved recognition from his peers on the international stage. The awards will be given out on Sept. 27, 2018, at the IBMA World of Bluegrass Convention in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Awards Show will be held at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts (Memorial Auditorium) and will feature performances and award presentations from some of the genre’s brightest stars.
