In recent years, there has been growing concern that many of the most likely terrorist threats will involve “agents of opportunity” or materials that are readily available in most communities around the country. The CME course is designed to familiarize health care providers and others who might have a role in planning and preparations for an emergency response to radiation and toxic exposures. The course is open to students and practitioners in all health care fields, including medicine, nursing and emergency medical services. The course content was developed by the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS), a part of the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), and the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT).
