Shelter Medicine Club (SMC)
The LMU-CVM Shelter Medicine Club is a Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.
The mission of the LMU-CVM Shelter Medicine Club is to advance and support the practice of shelter medicine in order to improve animal health and well-being within our community.

The Shelter Medcine Club is sponsored and/or partners with BarkBox, ResQWalk, Bissell for Pets, and Lost Pets USA.
We visit the shelter almost every Saturday.. We do physical exams, nail trims, behavior assessments, and network the dogs to rescues.
We also have an expenses-paid foster program, and we provide valuable services to our rural shelters that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.
