ABRAHAM LINCOLN LIBRARY AND MUSEUM RECEIVES SAT GRANT
A flag that flew over Abraham Lincoln’s funeral procession and a flag and two banners that were part of Lincoln’s 1858 bid for Stephen Douglas’s senatorial seat will be restored thanks to a Saving America’s Treasures (SAT) grant. The items are part of the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum (ALLM) collection. Time and environmental factors have placed these important artifacts in danger of being lost forever.

ROOP RECEIVES SULLIVAN AWARD
Lincoln Memorial University is one of a select few institutions selected to award the coveted Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for humanitarian effort and community mindedness. Duane Roop was presented the award for personifying the spirit of volunteerism and his selfless concern for his fellow man. Roop contributes at least 500 hours of his time and skills in a normal year to the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum. A tireless volunteer, he has supported a wide range of programs and special events
such as the Lincoln at Gettysburg and Christmas with the Lincolns programs.
