Library of Congress Classification
At the Carnegie-Vincent Library we use the Library of Congress Classification System. This allows us to easily and efficiently keep track of large amounts of books. As a student worker, part of your responsibility will to to use the Library of Congress Classification System (LC) to shelve books and ensure that they are ordered properly on the shelf. This tutorial will teach you how to use the LC system to shelve books, shelf-read, and to perform general stack maintenance.
