Microsoft Excel Importing Data, Working with PivotCharts,
PivotTables, and Trendlines
A PivotTable are linked to the data from which they are
derived. Participates will create a basic PivotTable by
specifying fields, deciding an organizational layout and
style and specifying the kinds of calculations the table
is to perform. After the table is built, it can be
rearranged to view the data from alternative
perspectives. The ability to “pivot” the dimensions of
the table (transpose column headings to row positions)
is what gives the table its name and analytical power.
Find out how PivotTables based on external data (data
stored outside Excel such as the stock market) can be
refreshed at regular time intervals or at a click of a
button.
