Description:         Organizational interactions affecting individual behavior and organizational performance.  Topics include worker attitudes, motivation, leadership, communication, conflict, conflict resolution, culture, climate, structure, team dynamics and organizational development.  3 credit hours.

 

Prerequisite:        MGMT 300 Management Theory and Applications

 

Goals:                    This class will help students to develop a level of understanding of

·         individual behavior within the context of organizations

·         group behavior within the context of organizations

·         worker attitudes and motivation within the context of organizations

·         leadership and communication within the context of organizations

·         conflict and conflict resolution within the context of organizations

·         organizational culture, climate and structure

·         team dynamics within the context of organizations

·         organizational development

·         the U.S. organization in the global context

As well as a level of practice experience in

·         working in small groups

·         informal and/or formal presentations
