III.       Prerequisites:                CIS 100 or comparable computer experience

 

IV.       Course Description: Advanced software course for business covering the more advanced concepts of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and Internet use for business professionals.  Business applications of computer skills and knowledge.  Students will work in a Windows operating system using Microsoft OfficeXP applications.  

 

V.        Relationship of this course to content area knowledge and skills:  This course familiarizes students with the various business uses of computer technology and advanced Office applications, and is designed to provide students with necessary skills with a focus on real world application..

VII.      Course Objectives: Students should gain working knowledge of the various applications and should be able to apply their skills to future class work and employers.

 

VIII.     Outline of Course content:

            Students participate in tutorials and simulations designed to give them hands on experience using the software applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.  Students will learn the advanced features of the applications included in Microsoft Office and their integrated features. See attached Homework and Test Schedule.
