III. Prerequisites: VET 300, VET 400
COURSE IV. This course is designed to identify issues reflected in the current
DESC. technical and professional veterinary literature. These issues will
be analyzed in such a way to enhance continued understanding of
the role and function of the veterinary technician.
TEXT V. Research literature identified by the student as being pertinent
to their topic.
COURSE VI. The course will emphasize the students' research, writing analytical
OBJ. activities, and communications skills.
METHODS VII. Research, written & oral communication, and roundtable style of
OF discussion. Ten percent of final will be based on attendance and
INSTR. class participation.
COURSE VIII. The student must prepare and present a research project that is
REQ. approved by the instructor. All students must attend each
presentation and participate in the analytical sessions. Each
project should include visual aids which illustrate the important
points of the students' thesis. (See Guidelines)

GUIDELINES XI. 1) Written form must be typed and double spaced
(7 –15 pages).
2) Written report must include a title page, foot and end noted,
and bibliography.
3) Oral presentation needs to last 20-30 minutes.
4) Use of visual aids such as slides, charts, handouts, x-rays,
video, animals, etc. is required.
