I.           Vet 304, Veterinary Technician Practical Experience

 

II.                   Spring semester 2003

 

III.                 Prerequisites:  Must have completed all other Vet Tech courses

 

IV.                 Course Description: This course enables the student to perform as a veterinary technician in a large veterinary teaching hospital.  The veterinarian or veterinary technician for whom the student works is his/her designated supervisor for each rotation and is responsible for evaluating tasks assigned and attitude. 

 

V.                   Course Objectives: 1. The student will perform many of the tasks he/she has learned during the      academic portion of his/her LMU education.

2.        The student will become competent at completing learned tasks through  experience.

3.        The student will communicate effectively with clients and members of the working environment.

4.        The large animal and laboratory/zoo animal experience of the student’s education will be greatly enhanced.

5.        The student must complete all twenty days at the UTCVM and must

attend  designated one chance only labs.

 

 

VI.                 Course Evaluation: This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
