Purpose: To introduce you to the
various parts of theatre, including: performance, writing, design, historical
theory, and technical theatre.
Assignments: There will be five tests. In
a group, you will give a 20 minute presentation on the world in which the play
we are discussing was written. In
group, you will write a 10 minute one-act play. You will help with the technical aspects of
our dinner theatre production of Inspecting Carol. You will write a
review of that production. The final in
the class will be an acting scene, with a partner, which you will memorize and
perform for class.
Grading: Five Tests 50
Presentation 20
One Act Play 30
Lab Work 30
Review 30
Final 40
Total 200
Other: If you miss class when an assignment is due you will not receive
points for that assignment. There will be no make-up work!!! Do not cheat or you will flunk this class.
