COURSE DESCRIPTION: French 112 is an introductory French course

and is a continuation of French I I 1. The overall goal of this course is to

help students to continue to develop proficiency in the four basic language

skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will master new

vocabulary and structures of the French language. Also, students will

continue to learn about French culture. Culture will be taught within the

context of the language.

 

COURSE CONTENT: The course will consist of Units 5-7 in the text.

These units will be embellished with presentations of French songs, poetry,

newspapers, magazines, and dialogues for the purpose of facilitating

language acquisition.

 

EVALUATION: Three unit exams will be given. These exams will

comprise three-fourths of the final grade. One-fourth of the grade will come

from small quizzes and class participation.

 

CLASS ATTENDANCE: Good class attendance is mandatory in learning a

foreign language since the facilitation of the language occurs at this time.

Make-up work for unit tests and quizzes should be done within one week of

the test. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange a time with the

instructor to take the test.
