REPORTING SYNOPSIS

      For March 8, 2007, the LMU Academic Council reports the following synopsis:

 

BUSINESS

ACTIONS

·        Proposal for conceptual endorsement of the Physician Assistance program: motion carried.

·        Nursing and Allied Health – change the name of the Health and Kinesiology Program to the Physical Education and Kinesiology Program, presented by Evans. Proposal located for review in the Barney folder prior to meeting: motion carried.

·        Arts and Sciences proposed: the Lincoln pre-law curriculum will be maintained within the English department; motion to endorse carried.

 

OTHER

Dual enrollment: presented by Daniels – high school students attend LMU, meeting GPA guidelines, expecting college-level achievement by the students.  Students will attend classes on campus; they must have a GPA of 3.0, in an honors/accelerated program and a minimum composite on the ACT of 18.   

Expect a Kingsport facility to be available in the fall for initiating classes with expectation of an upgraded facility in the near future.
