Research
- Involved in the initial research project with other members of the Curriculum and Instruction Department for presentation at the Oxford Roundtable, Oxford University, England. Topic: “What impact does the No Child Left Behind Act have on classroom instruction?”
- Completed research in Gender Equity for publication and presentations. This research was used to create a Gender Equity in Education course which has now become an Equity Issues course presented as part of the Masters program, with portions also included in the Ed. S. course, Politics in Education.
- Completed research in Bullying in Schools for publication and presentations. Completed research on reflective practice in education for presentation at the ACA sponsored Human Rights and Globalization Conference at Bethany College in Bethany, West, Virginia. The title of the paper is “Self Reflection, the Reflective Self: Teachers Looking Through a Glass Darkly.”
- On-going project - collecting teacher stories from the early part of the century to the present
- Article Published in The Delta Kappa Gamma Bulletin: International Journal for Professional Educators titled “Mentoring New Teachers in Lenoir City, Tennessee,” Summer 2008, Volume 74-4.
- Reworked and submitted the article, “Lessons Learned from Don Imus and the Sullivan County, Tennessee School System” with Dr. John O'Dell
- Wrote Case Studies that were included in the Curriculum and Instruction Department’s Case Study
