Clinical Sciences
The clinical years (3rd and 4th) will consist of hospital and office based training. Entry into any third year rotations requires successful completion of the entire course of study of the second year.
During the third year, the student will be assigned to a core rotational hub site. Each hub site will be centered on a carefully selected hospital with sufficient resources to provide the third year curricular plan. The core hospital experience within the hub site will consist of:
- 4 weeks of Psychiatry/Community Mental Health
- 8 weeks of Internal Medicine
- 4 weeks of General Surgery
- 4 weeks of Obstetrics/Gynecology
- 4 weeks of Pediatrics
- 4 weeks of Family Medicine (near the core hospital experience)
- Selectives
- Electives
- Vacation
The fourth year curriculum is intended to build on the foundational experience provided in the third year. These experiences are in settings where more demands for independence can be expected of the senior medical student. The required rotations include:
