The Emerging LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine
The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking to attract and educate future veterinarians to serve the needs of rural communities throughout the United States and especially the Appalachian region. To achieve these goals we are actively recruiting bright, hard-working applicants whose goal is to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine wherever they choose to enter professional practice. We believe that prospective students with a desire to becoming a veterinarian are mature individuals that are inquisitive, highly motivated, compassionate, and eager to serve humanity.
The primary administrative committee of the CVM is the Dean’s Council, composed of the Dean, the Associate/Assistant Deans, Chair of the Faculty Association, and one designee of the Vice President for Health Sciences. The Chair of the Staff Council and various student leaders will be invited to attend Dean’s Council meetings as needed. The Dean’s Council approves operational policies and is advisory to the Dean on all College issues.
Dean’s Advisory Council
The Dean’s Advisory Council will consist of external constituents and friends of the College who advise the Dean in matters related to veterinary education, professional issues, clinical site opportunities, and other potential opportunities for the College. The Dean’s Advisory Council will meet twice annually. Members will be appointed to the advisory council by the Dean based upon nominations received from council members and CVM internal constituents.
