Parents

From the depths of our hearts, we cannot say thank you enough for not only allowing your students to be a part of our family, but for also being an avid supporter of the Upward Bound program. It is the love and support that you show in your student's life that helps them to become successful students!

We want to take the opportunity to help make you aware of some very important topics of interest. If at any time you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 1- 800- 325- 0900 ext. 6373. We love hearing from our parents.

What high school courses are required for my student to attend college?

The Tennessee Board of Regents is the state governing body for most all of the colleges and universities in Tennessee. This organization helps in many ways with the functionality of the schools they represent. One of the decisions this Board helps to make is the setting of the high school requirements to be admitted into one of their colleges and/or universities. Please click below to view a detailed list of the high school course requirements for admittance into college.

Why even go to college?

One outstanding fact about students receiving a four year Bachelor's Degree is that they are likely to make an average of $46,800 per year while a student with a high school diploma is likely to make $28,808 per year. This is a difference of almost $18,000. Not to mention that college graduates are less likely to be unemployed. Click below to view more information and see the breakdown by degree.

Is my student's involvement in community service that important?

The answer to this question is YES! Many times the deciding factor for a scholarship may e based on community service. In addition, community service teaches students that we are all responsible for our community and we have the ability to help those in the community in need.

Parents please check the Important Reminders page for upcoming deadlines and information!
