Survival Weekend 2012

Fall 2012 promises a great start for another year at Lincoln Memorial University! We’re very excited about your arrival and look forward to seeing you again. You will be an important part of shaping the University’s future. Your life experiences and personality, your goals and opinions, all of these create the LMU community and we hope you are looking forward to being a part of that exciting future.

Each year we provide important required activities and events for new students prior to classes commencing. Please look at the schedule below. A few of these include:

  • Saturday, August 18, begins our 11th Annual New Student Survival Weekend. Remember – this day requires participation by all full-time newly enrolled LMU residential and commuter students (within 30 minute drive of the Harrogate Campus).
  • Residential students may move into your communities early (Saturday, 8-11a.m.). Check in at the Student Center lobby with your residence life staff first. We will also be offering additional Express Registration on Saturday from 8:30-11am in the Student Center for pre-registered students needing to complete and pay fees. If you are not moving in that morning, your day begins at the Tex Turner Arena with the Matriculation Ceremony at 12:15 p.m., followed by a weekend of interesting and helpful activities well worth your valuable time. Please refer to the schedule below for the entire weekend’s events. Please attend and sign in at all activities.
  • We are also providing required presentations concerning Student Success and Academic Integrity (Sunday, Aug 19, 2-3:30 p.m.) and Campus and Personal Safety (Sunday, 7 p.m.) for all new students (new residential students, new transfers and commuter students within a 30 minute drive of the Harrogate Main Campus). Please sign in upon arrival at both events.
  • Classes begin on Monday, August 20! Make the most of it!

We look forward to your arrival and the start of new and wonderful things in your life. We’re very interested in your input, so feel free to contact me at 423.869.6811 or at with any questions or comments you may have to offer. See you soon!
