POEMS

KATY OLIVER

Daisy Bell

I keep you in my pocket
That pocket by my heart
And when I walk I pull you out,
Snatch up flowers, tweak apart

I pluck a petal, drip it down,
Stop and sit you on my nose,
I see as clearly as you now
The scrawny head and stem exposed
You ‘love me, love me, love me not,’
I should have known straight from the start.

I keep you in my pocket
That pocket by my heart.
