About the Sisterhood
The Delta Theta Sigma sorority evolved from the Browining Literary Society in 1926. It was the first Greek letter organization on campus. During the years that have followed, over 1000 girls have been initiated into the sisterhood.
The Deltas became a part of the national sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma in 1980. The LMU chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma was dissolved in 1987. A rechartering committee of former Deltas went to work to reestablish the Delta Theta Sigma sorority in the fall of 1987. It immediately became the largest sorority on campus.
The Deltas are involved in many campus and community activities. On Campus we participate in activities such as Homecoming, pink out game and several on campus service projects. Many of our members are also involved with other organizations such as SGA, IGC, Athletic Training, Dance team, RAILS, and many more. We help out in the community through the Salvation Army, Angel Tree, Susan G. Komen Breast cancer awareness through a breast cancer walk a thon and many more. Throughout the year we do several fundraising activities to support these community and campus service projects.
The Delta’s along with our brother Fraternity Alpha Lambda Zeta host several social events including a yearly cabin trip in the fall, a formal homecoming dance, and a Spring Formal. We also have several informal social gatherings with our brothers.
