The Lincoln Memorial University Professional MBA program is designed for professionals who have already earned a graduate degree outside of business, but now require or desire a formal business education. The program delivers foundational business material in a format that focuses on the application of business knowledge to the real world. The LMU Professional MBA program offers you the opportunity to improve your business knowledge and application in a format consistent with your busy schedule.
Coursework in this program follows the format of our part time evening program. You will benefit from the interaction with our traditional MBA students, and faculty stand ready to provide individual assistance if necessary All coursework is offered in the evenings; there is no weekend coursework. We do not follow a cohort model. Instead, we allow you to select the order of classes that fits your requirements and objectives. The curriculum includes required face-to-face coursework and opportunities to take some classes online. We believe there is a learning benefit to face to face classes through student interaction, immediate feedback and faculty assistance. However we understand some online classes are helpful in achieving a balance in your professional, personal, and education obligations.
The program is ideal for practicing physicians and attorneys who wish to improve their business education and understanding. Practitioners in both medicine and law have an increasing need for better critical thinking and decision making skills in their day to day business operations.
The faculty in the LMU MBA Program combines extensive academic preparation, professional experience and a student-centered approach. The result is an open and interactive learning environment. In all our classes, we stress the application of the business knowledge to the real world. The curriculum uses case studies, group work, presentations and class discussions. Your experience will be enhanced through LMU’s small class sizes and modern technology facilities.
The LMU 30 hour Professional MBA curriculum consists of 18 hours of required core classes and 12 hours of electives. You can select from any of our MBA electives offered in seven disciplines - finance, marketing, management, healthcare, human resource management, accounting and international business. Of the core requirements, 15 hours are in the foundational courses of accounting, finance, economics, marketing and management. These must be completed in a face to face format during either or fall or spring semesters. The remaining hours include a required capstone class and electives which can be completed in an online format.
LMU accepts students to start the professional program in either the fall (August) or spring (January) semesters. Applications are reviewed year round and admission decisions are good for one year.
The LMU School of Business is committed to delivering a high quality, inexpensive, value added graduate business education.
