Blog: Monica Lindsey

My name is Monica Lindsey, and I'm a Freshman. I play defense, and I'm a nursing major. Regarding soccer, Spring semester has been very different from Fall. Back in the Fall we had practice 6 days a week for 2 hours, and it was intense but very fun. We started out the spring with conditioning 3 times a week for an hour and 2 individual practices a week. Conditioning consisted of 20 min of running, 20 min of plyometrics, and 20 min of abs. Conditioning was hard but so worth it because we got in great shape. During individuals, we could only have a max of 6 girls there. We would play small sided games on the bball court. I, personally, loved indidviduals. They were so fun. We did this for about 2 months then we started playing outside again. Spring was really fun. We had a couple scrimmages and the futsol tournament.

School-wise, in the Fall, I took 15 hours. I took anatomy, anatomy lab, art, history, math, and uact. This semster, I took Physiology, physiology lab, history, speech, english, psychology, and Lincoln; 17 hours. Definitely make sure you take a lighter load during the Fall because of season. School has been great. I can honestly say that I have learned more stuff during my freshman year than I ever did in all of my highschool years. Next, semester I am starting my nursing classes.... yay! It's going to be difficult, but that's why I'm only taking 14 hours. I'm really excited about starting nursing; I can't wait.

Anyways, we just had our athletic banquet and our soccer banquet. It was fun, and we got to dress up :). Tomorrow night we are all going to Knoxville for a nice goodbye dinner. I've had a great year with these girls. It has been sooooooo much fun, and I love each and every one of them. I'm going to miss everyone alot this summer, especially the seniors. I'm really excited about next year though because my roommate and I are going to live in Dishner with 4 other soccer girls. This year we lived in Grant Lee.

All in all, this year has been absolutely great. It has been one of the best experiences I have ever had. I've learned so much, had so much fun playing soccer, and met some of the best friends. LMU is a great school, and I cannot wait for my 2nd year here!
