Men’s Hoops Roster
Lincoln Memorial University men’s basketball
Head Coach Josh Schertz has been hard at work putting together the missing
pieces for the 2008-09 roster. On Thursday morning, Schertz announced
Carlos Sanford, a 6’0” point guard
from Durham, North Carolina as the latest addition to the Railsplitter
basketball roster.

Schertz To Begin New Era

an extensive search that included more than 160 applications, Lincoln Memorial
University athletics department officials will announce Thursday morning the
addition of Josh Schertz as the
University’s new head men’s basketball coach. Schertz will become the 17th
head coach in the program’s storied history that spans nearly 100 years.

Mars Hill snapped a two-game skid as they ran past Lincoln Memorial
Wednesday night in Stanford Arena, 101-81. The Lions are now 10-12 overall

Friday morning, Lincoln Memorial University Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Hugh Watson announced he will
resign following the 2007-08 season. Watson’s resignation will bring to a
close career in coaching that spans more than four decades at virtually
every level of the high school and college game.

Railsplitters Survive
Cobra’s Late-Game Bite To Notch First Win Of The Season
The
Railsplitter men’s basketball team led the Cobras of Virginia Intermont College
by 12 points at halftime and later extended its lead to 21 points with 14:46 to
play in Sunday evening’s fourth game of the season. LMU looked as though they
would run away to victory in the second half, but the Cobras struck with a late
run that cut the LMU lead to only three points with 2:43 to go. Eventually, the
Railsplitters survived the scare and hit their free throws down the stretch to
