LMU Men’s Golf Team Finishes 7th In The Independent Collegiate Invitational; Lady Railsplitters Place 11th In Agnes McAmis Invitational

Greeneville, TN – On Monday and Tuesday the Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s golf teams traveled to Etowah, North Carolina and Greeneville, Tennessee to participate in separate golf tournaments as the spring schedule winds down.

The LMU men traveled to Etowah, North Carolina to participate in the Independent Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament hosted by Brevard College.  Lincoln Memorial finished 7th overall and it was Josh Collins led the Railsplitters and tied for 16th place with a pair of 77’s for a two-day total 154, 10 strokes off the leader.  LMU’s Brad Greenside also tied for 16th place overall.  He too shot a pair of 77’s for a final 154.

Railsplitter Steve Cambron was third best the LMU players participating.  Cambron shot an 80 and a 78 for a final 158 that was good enough to tie for 34th place.  Coming in 44th was LMU’s Cory Barlett.  Bartlett shot an 82 and an 81 for a final 163, 19 strokes off the pace, while Jeremy Gordon placed 53rd with rounds of 87 and 82 for a final 169.

The Lady Railsplitters made the short trek over to Greeneville, Tennessee where they participated in the Agnes McAmis Invitational Tournament hosted by Tusculum College.  The Lady Railsplitters finished 11th overall and were led by senior Sarah Oswalt-MacNeill.  After hitting a confirmed hole-in-one on the 16th hole on day-one of the tournament and turning in a round of 80, Oswalt-MacNeill struggled somewhat in her final round, shooting a 91 to finish with a two-day total 171 to tie for 36th place.

LMU’s Kirsten Wolff also tied for 36th place with rounds of 87 and 84 for a final 171, 21 strokes off the leader, while Rhoni Daikoff turned in scores of 88 and 91 for a total 179 to finish 29 strokes back in a tie for 56th place.  Also tying for 56th place was LMU’s Terran Harrison who shot an 88 and a 91 for a two-day total 179.

Both teams will now use the favorable weather conditions to prepare for the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Men’s & Women’s Golf Tournament to be held at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, North Carolina April 14-15.
