OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release April 9, 2008 Bellarmine Defeats Lincoln Memorial in Men’s Tennis Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team fell to 3-9 overall on Tuesday afternoon when it lost a non-conference match to Bellarmine University at home on the Annan Courts. The Railsplitters lost their match 6-3, gaining their only victories in No. 1 doubles, and at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. In doubles play, LMU’s Hannes Ganss (Erlangen, Germany) and Bastian Guenther (Erlangen, Germany) defeated Bellarmine’s Tim Braam and Nick Janssen –Bernard 8-5 at the No. 1 doubles positions, while Ganss defeated Nathan Matthews at the No. 1 singles position 6-4, 6-1 and Guenther knocked off Sathi Reddy 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 at the No. 2 singles position. The Lincoln Memorial men have only two matches remaining on the regular season schedule with the University of the Cumberlands on Thursday in Williamsburg, Kentucky and with Brevard College at home on Saturday before participating in the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament April 15-19. -LMU- For additional
