ROCK HILL, SC – The No. 7 seed Lincoln Memorial University women’s tennis team ended the 2007-08 season on Friday afternoon with a 5-0 loss to No. 1 seed Carson-Newman  College in the semi-finals of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Playing the Lady Eagles for the second time this season, the Lady Railsplitters weren’t able to muster a win in Friday’s semi-final match, as Carson-Newman scored victories in all three doubles matches and at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions.  LMU’’s No. 1 Kathleen Rollet (Bouge Chambalud, France), the reining Co-Player of the Year in the South Atlantic Conference didn’t get to finish her match, as well as No. 2 Martina Rezic (Pula, Croatia), No. 5 Rachel Redmond (Somerset, KY) and No. 6 Mandy Mills (Tazewell, TN)

The Lady Railsplitters end the year with an 8-9 record and will lose four seniors to graduation along with Head Coach Lisa-Marie Lewallen who announced several weeks ago that she would step down as head coach following the 2008 spring season.
