LMU’s Rollet Named SAC Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University women’s tennis player Kathleen Rollet (Bougé Chambalud, France) has been named South Atlantic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week by the sports information directors throughout the conference.

She becomes the first tennis player in LMU history to be named a conference Player of the Week.

Last week Rollet helped the Lady Railsplitter tennis team pick up South Atlantic Conference victories over Mars Hill College and Newberry College.  In the Lady Splitter’s 7-2 win over Mars Hill, Rollet rolled over opponent Patty La Rovere 6-2 and 6-1 after pairing up with teammate Rachel Redmond (Somerset, KY) to defeat La Rovere and Adriana Borda 8-5.

In Monday’s match with Newberry, Rollet remained undefeated in South Atlantic Conference play when she and Redmond defeated the Indian’s Bethany Poppe and Lauren Hartley 9-8 (7-4) before Rollet won in straight sets over Hartley in the singles match 6-2, 6-2.

Now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the South Atlantic Conference, Rollet and the Lady Railsplitters are scheduled for matches this week at home against Georgetown College on Wednesday and on the road in conference play this weekend against Catawba College and Wingate University.  Wednesday’s match with the Bulldogs is set for a 2:00 p.m. start on LMU’s Annan Courts.
