JEFFERSON CITY, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team competed over the weekend in the Carson-Newman College Lady Eagle Classic and came away with three wins and only one loss to improve to 6-1 on the year.

On Friday afternoon, the Lady Railsplitters rolled over Converse College in their opening match of the classic, defeating the All-Stars by the final of 3-0.  Later on in the afternoon, the LMU women again emerged victorious, knocking off Augusta State University 3-1 to move to 5-0 on the year following the first day of the classic.

On Saturday afternoon, the Lady Splitters defeated North Greenville University of Tigerville, South Carolina, again winning by the final of 3-0.  Lincoln Memorial’s only loss came in the final match of the tournament when the Lady Railsplitters lost to Lander University in straight games 3-0.

Now 6-1 on the year, the Lady Railsplitters travel to Highland Heights, Kentucky on Tuesday to take on the Norse of Northern Kentucky University.  The match is one of eight remaining road matches the Lady Splitters will have to endure before returning to their home floor again on September 18 for the conference home opener against Mars Hill College.
