LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release April 15, 2008 Rounding Up The Women’s Soccer Roster
HARROGATE, TN -- Head Soccer Coach Helio D'Anna recently announced the final touches on the Lady Railsplitters roster for 2008. Three players have been added to the roster, Mamie Maddox (Watkinsville, GA), Kristi Dunagan (Douglasville, GA), and Caroline Chadwell (Harrogate, TN). Maddox is a product of North Oconee high school where she was a three year offensive MVP and the Athens United soccer club. She also played in the Super Y League for the Augusta Fireball and the Atlanta Silverbacks. Her senior year, Mamie moved to the Morgan Soccer’s College Experience Program. According to her coach Mike Morgan, “Mamie is a workaholic on the field. One of her biggest assets is her passion and enjoyment of the game.” A 5’3” midfielder and forward, Mamie is the daughter of Jeff and Tami Maddox and plans on majoring in Biology and Pre-Med at LMU. Her academic honors include AP Honors Courses, and Who’s Who Among American High School Students (academic and sports edition). Dunagan comes from Lithia Springs High School, the same school as LMU’s goalkeeper Ashley Wallace. A 5’9” defender, she has been an instrumental force and a captain for coach Brianna Burns who had many praises for her play. “Kristi is a leader on and off the field,” says Burns. She works hard at all times and teaches young players.” Dunagan was All-Douglas County in 2007 and named Defensive Player of the Year for the school. For the 2008 season she was named MVP of her team. Kristi is the daughter of Kelli Livingston and Kristi plans on majoring in Physical Therapy at LMU. Chadwell played at nearby Middlesboro High School and the KY Rush Soccer Club. Over her career, she accumulated numerous honors including All-Region in 2006 and 2007, and KHSAA Academic First Team from 2004 to 2007. She was also a member of the National Honor Society in 2007 and 2008 and Beta Club from 2006 to 2008. A 5’5” sweeper and center midfielder, Chadwell left a mark where she passed. According to her coach Antonio Almeida, “Caroline is a solid defender with a tremendous work ethic. Her endless energy, commitment, and passion for the game have been extremely valuable to the success of our program. She’s been a very good leader for the team and has had an impact during all of her years at MHS.” “These ladies will bring talent, hard work, and passion to the roster.
