LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release November 14, 2006 LMU’s Dos Santos Earns Daktronics All-Southeast Region Second Team Honors
Dos Santos, a 5’7” sophomore from Brasilia, Brazil finished the season tied for first place on the Lady Railsplitter squad in goals scored with 12, while also contributing 6 assists.
Thirteen games into the 2006 schedule, Dos Santos’ season came to an end when she suffered a season-ending shoulder separation in the Lady Railsplitter’s October 10 match with Lenoir-Rhyne College.
In addition to earning Daktronics All-Southeast Region honors this season, Dos Santos received 2005 All-South Region First Team honors, 2005 NSCAA/Adidas All-America Second Team honors and was named 2005 Gulf South Conference Eastern Division Freshman of the Year. The second year starter also earned 2005 First Team All-GSC honors and was Co-Most Valuable Player of the 2005 GSC Women’s Soccer Tournament.
The Lady Railsplitters finished the 2006 season with an overall record of 9-6-1 and were not eligible to compete for conference championship honors following Lincoln Memorial University’s decision to change membership from the Gulf South Conference to the South Atlantic Conference.
