Oliveira Earns Second South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Week Award

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University women’s soccer forward Heloisa de Oliveira (Campinas, Brazil) has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week by the sports information directors throughout the conference.

Oliveira, a 5’8” senior continued her assault of the LMU record book last week by adding five goals to her career tally of 71 while bringing her season total to 21 goals with four games remaining on the regular season schedule.

A four-year starter for the Lady Railsplitters, Oliveira scored two goals against Presbyterian College last week, including the game-winning goal in overtime and then added three goals and an assist in the Lady Railsplitters 10-0 non-conference win over Milligan College.

Currently, Oliveira is ranked 2nd in the country in goals per game (1.750), and in points per game (4.71), and is tied for 15th place in assists per game (0.67) as of the statistics released by the NCAA thru October 14.

With the Lady Railsplitter win streak now at seven consecutive matches, the Lincoln Memorial women will have possibly their biggest test of the year on Wednesday when they travel to Jefferson City, Tennessee to take on the #21 ranked Lady Eagles of Carson-Newman College.  The Lady Eagles boast a record of 11-3 overall and are 3-2 in the South Atlantic Conference.  In addition, the Lady Eagles are ranked #3 in the NCAA Southeast Region and LMU will be looking to move up the ladder from #8 with a win Wednesday afternoon.  Match time is 3:30 p.m. in Jefferson City.
