Railsplitters Roll Over Brevard

HARROGATE, TN – The 11th ranked Lincoln Memorial University men’s soccer team remained among the ranks of the unbeaten with Tuesday’s 7-2 victory over visiting Brevard College. (Box score)

Only hours prior to the match did the Railsplitters learn they had moved up from the nation’s #17 ranked team to #11 according to the latest NSCAA/Adidas poll released around noon Tuesday.

LMU took control only minutes into the match and called the dogs off early en route to their ninth win of the year.  Although the match against winless Brevard College was no contest, it proved to be a good opportunity for the Railsplitters to get several things sorted out for a much tougher opponent this Friday when they host future South Atlantic Conference foe Presbyterian College.

While the win over Brevard goes in the win column and brings LMU’s record to 9-0-1, it means nothing more then another victory.  This Friday’s match against Presbyterian on the other hand is a key Appalachian Region bout and will get underway at 4:00 p.m.
