LMU Soccer Adds Player From North Of The Border

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University men’s soccer Coach Helio D’Anna announced today that Greg Lewandowski from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada will play his collegiate career for the Railsplitters this fall.

A 5’9 midfielder, Lewandowski has played at St. Aloysius Gonzaga High School as well as for the Dixie 89ers Soccer Club. Throughout his prep and club career, he has been named a team MVP and finished 4th in the Canadian National Championship. Lewandowski was also a two-time Ontario Provincial Champion as well as a two-time Ontario League Champion.  “Greg has phenomenal speed and ball control,” says high school coach Andrew Frichleton.  “He repeatedly uses his skills to create scoring chances. He is a fantastic finisher.”

“We are delighted to add Greg to our great team,” D’Anna says. “He plays the style of soccer that we use and should fit in nicely with our returning and other incoming players.”

Greg is the son of Jerzy and Iwona Lewandowski and intends to pursue Athletic Training as his major while attending Lincoln Memorial University.  The 2007 Railsplitters are projected to be yet another great LMU soccer team.  The Railsplitters will begin their defense of their Appalachian Region title August 12th when the Railsplitters report to campus for pre-season training.
